I’d Love to Start a Porcelarts Experience – Making a Japanese Teacup and Sweets Plate for Inbound Guests

Hello, my name is Mari, and I live in Hakodate, Japan.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about starting a small cultural experience for international visitors: creating a Japanese-style teacup and sweets plate using porcelarts – a popular porcelain-decorating craft in Japan.

Porcelarts lets you decorate plain white porcelain with your own designs and bake it to create beautiful, original pieces.
I think it would be a lovely idea for guests to decorate a yunomi (Japanese teacup) and a sweets plate, while enjoying the charm of Japanese tea culture.

Hakodate is a popular destination, and I feel this kind of hands-on experience could be a warm and memorable part of someone’s trip.
I haven’t started anything yet, but it’s something I’d really love to try in the future.

Thank you for reading – I’ll be sure to share more if I take steps toward making it happen!
