Yesterday, I made a kashi-zara (a small sweet plate) using Porcelarts — a popular decorative porcelain art in Japan.

Porcelarts uses transfer sheets that are applied to white porcelain and kiln-fired, allowing anyone to easily create beautiful and unique designs.

This time, I used a blue-and-white pattern inspired by Sometsuke, the traditional cobalt blue painting style. Even if you don’t have painting experience, you can enjoy creating elegant pieces with ease.

I’m also working on a full Japanese tea set, including a teapot (kyusu) and tea cups (yunomi), all in matching styles.

In the future, I plan to create sample works using colorful and ornate kimono-inspired patterns as well, to showcase a wider range of Japanese aesthetics.

A hands-on workshop is currently being prepared. If you’re interested in Japanese culture, ceramics, or handmade art, this will be a perfect chance to create something truly your own.
